A video has emerged online of what looks like drone maker DJI’s Flycart 30 cargo drone rescuing a man trapped in a flooded river during a storm in China.

The incident is said to have happened in the Zheijiang province at the beginning of June, which reports saying the fisherman got trapped on an island when a storm hit.

The reports further say the fisherman was rescued by a quick-thinking resident, who deployed the drone to deliver a rescue line directly to the man.

The fisherman secured the rope attached to the drone around his waist and was then safely carried to shore.

While this will be the first time we have seen a drone literally pulling a human being out of danger, this will not be the first time the Flycart 30 has borne heavy duty cargo: during its testing phases before it was put on sale, the drone was shown lifting huge solar panels from the foot of a mountain, carrying them about 300metres up the where a solar farm was under construction.

The drone has the capacity to carry loads up 30kg; we guess the pilot had to stretch it to its utmost endurance to rescue the fisherman.
